Faculty & Staff

MSU recognizes and supports engagement as a critical element of the university. In doing so, the university’s faculty, staff, units, and programs must be supported in the development of their expertise and prominence as national and international leaders in engaged scholarship. This support will increase the scholarly value of engagement to promote and advance the Land-Grant university’s third mission regarding engagement in identifying adult and youth learners’ needs and meeting those needs through community-engaged teaching, scholarship, and service.

Continuum of Engaged Scholarship

Engaged scholarship is defined as scholarship resulting from the collaborative and mutually beneficial partnership between university member(s) (i.e. faculty, staff, and/or student) and external non-higher education partner(s).
