About
MSU Engagement

Mississippi State University (MSU) identified engagement as a critical element of the university in 2009. It is not unit (department/college), but a comprehensive, university wide strategy that connects individuals, communities, organizations, and businesses to our faculty, staff and students to enhance the quality of life through collaborative learning, research, and service opportunities.

Core Engagement Areas at MSU

Since the last Carnegie reclassification application in 2020, MSU has identified the core areas of the university required for the successful coordination and management for engagement programming.

Core Areas

Administration

MSU established a senior administrative position to coordinate the engagement efforts of the university. This associate vice president coordinates the implementation of the university’s strategic plan for advancing the engagement agenda across the MSU system.
