Outreach Task Force Recommendations
The MSU Outreach Task Force (2021) provided recommendations to the administration, faculty, and staff regarding our mission and progress as an engaged university. These recommendations were reviewed and accepted by MSU Holland Faculty Senate and the MSU Administration, which included:
Recognizing MSU’s engagement role as a critical element of the university.
Fostering a culture of engagement within all units and aspects of the university.
Creating a university-wide infrastructure to support engagement from a university-wide perspective.
Promoting, recognizing, and rewarding the scholarship of engagement in faculty and staff annual reviews, and the faculty promotion and tenure process.
Providing additional faculty and staff training and support for outreach.
Supporting, evaluating, and improving outreach assessment and data collection.
Creating a senior leadership position to support and advance engagement.
Reviewing existing awards to ensure recognition of outreach activities.
Promoting more meaningful partnerships with individuals, communities, and businesses as conduits for engagement with the university and faculty, fostering collaboration and engaged scholarship.
Continuing to foster trust and inclusiveness through our meaningful, problem-solving partnerships.
Communicating stories of MSU engagement success.
