MSU Extension
MSU-ES is a unit housed in the Division of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine that includes approximately 700 university employees with 138 faculty located on the university campuses and Research and Extension Centers. MSU-ES has field offices conveniently located in the 82 counties in MSU in courthouses, post offices, or other local government buildings creating a unique partnership with local Boards of Supervisors, the USDA and Alcorn State University. By providing research-based knowledge through non-formal/non-credit teaching, this unit uses engagement scholarship and service strategies to strengthen the social, economic, and environmental well-being of children, youth, families, communities and agriculture and natural resources. MSU Extension faculty, staff and partners already work collaboratively to improve the quality of people's lives using a research driven non-credit instructional program planning system that serves a model for other MSU units for designing, organizing, teaching, and evaluating non-credit scholarship targeting adult learners.
